Lawn Boy

I enjoy a little yard work every now and then. I also enjoy sitting on my backside watching other people do yard work. So, when Diego expressed interest in learning how to use the lawn mower, I was really excited.

In addition to mowing our yard, I am very proud of Diego because he has gone around the neighborhood and sought out his own customers - $5 a cut - I think he is lowballing himself a little, but the whole "finance" discussion will have to come later.

Last Ride

One of the special things about the last 5 years in Florida that I will always be greatful for is being drawn back into Motorcycling after almost 16 years away. I went on my last ride as a Florida Resident yesterday with 5 really good friends. Andrew (Triumph), Rob ( Suzuki), Chris (Moto Guzzi) and Bob (Harley Davidson). I have riden with these guys several weekends over the past 5 years. Great group of guys with similar values and interests as mine. I have thoroughly enjoyed their company and friendship and have already started planning a get together up near our new home in Georgia.

We had a great ride Saturday up to the Ocala National Forest for breakfast at the Dam Diner (Ocklawaha, FL RIver Dam). On the way back, we stopped at Bob's Lake home near Eustis, FL.

Video of Screened Patio

We will be spending a lot of time on our screened patio once the bugs come out this summer!

Sawnee Mountain Preserve

I am in Georgia by myself this weekend and I decided to "explore" the area around where we are buying our new home today. Sawnee mountain (2300') is 8 miles from our new house. It has a great hiking system and a brand new visitors center. I hiked about 4 miles before I had just about enough. The pictures from this video are facing north - the area that we live in is considered to be the "foothills" of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Had the weather been clear, you could have seen them. I can't wait to get the family up here and show them the area! There are parks everywhere - we are going to have a blast!

Mustang's 45th Anniversary Celebration

2 Weeks ago I attended the 45th Anniversary Celebration of the Ford Mustang - a true American Icon! It was held in Birmingham AL at Barber Motorsports Park. This was my 2nd time to Barber - 1st was back in the fall of 2008 on the motorcycle for the Vintage Motorcycle Festival. Barber Motorsports park is just east of Birmingham about 20 minutes west of Talledaga Superspeedway. It's a very beautiful road racing course. The event was a lot of fun - it was all about the Mustang. Several Mustang Engineers and Marketing friends of mine were there from Dearborn. The Mustang Clue of America partnered with Ford for this event. The attendance was unbelievable. Mustang enthusiasts from all over the world attended - the Mustang club of France actually flew over and rented 100 2010 Mustangs for the event - pretty cool. I have posted a couple of video's as I didn't have the camera with me - one of the video's is of Ford Racing Drifting Driver Vaughn Gitten Jr. - very cool!
