Finally All Moved In!

Well, after 4 months, we are Georgia Residents. The only thing I have left to do is find a church, get my driver's license changed and register the toys in this state. We will handle Church this weekend as we are going to visit a local United Methodist Church.

We unpacked the last boxes and hung the last few pictures earlier this week. I have a little yard work and landscaping clean up to do, but overall, the house is awesome and ready to enjoy!

We are all so blessed to be in the same house again, and I am thankful that everyone loves the house, area, and neighborhood. I bought this house without the rest of the family seeing it in person - only video and photo - so I was a little nervous. All is well though. We met some of the neighbors this week and they are very nice people with kids around the same age as ours. There is a community party this Saturday night at the neighborhood pool - I can't wait to meet people and find out who rides motorcycles!!!

The above picture is of the woods behind our house. This week has been so great - every morning I have sat in the back of the house and watched various wildlife - Cardinals, Blue Jays, Robin's, Squirrels, and Rabbits. I think we are really going to enjoy this place!

Father's Day Weekend in Charleston, SC

Several months ago, our Cub Scout Pack 529 in Lake Mary, FL planned a trip to stay on board and tour the USS Yorktown in Charleston Harbor, SC. That was before the move to Atlanta - I was able to work my schedule so we could attend and myself, Diego, and Antonio made the 5 hour trip over from Atlanta. It was a blast. I love history - especially WWII history - and this carrier was part of some very significant battles and served it's country well until it was retired in the early 70's.

The ship will allow "organized" groups to sleep overnight on the ship. This particular weekend had a bunch of scouts staying on board. It was really cool. We got to sleep in the same quarters that the sailors slept in. We also got to tour the ship after hours. They have several retired warplanes in the below deck hanger and the above flight deck. We even had time for a tour of Charleston Harbor via boat, a drive through the historic downtown, and a few hours at the beach. In all, it was a very special weekend with my 2 oldest boys. Best Father's Day gift I could have received - and when I got home, I got big hugs from the other 3 beautifull people in my life and Belinda made me a really good meal.

A.J's House

Over the past 3.5 months, while in transition to Atlanta, I have been staying at my friend A.J.'s house in Marietta GA. He has a nice place with lots of room and a whole bunch of large TV's (he is one of those technology "early adopters") and it made the transition very comfortable for me - I really owe him a big thank you, and I enjoyed my time at his home. These pictures were taken the day we packed up my stuff from there - the kids really liked his dog Teddy - I did too - very well manored and friendly dog.

Florida Going Away Party

Friends of ours in Heathrow threw us a very nice going away party at the Kelly family's house on Saturday, June 6th. It was a family friendly party - we pretty much took over their cul-de-sac. Kids running around everywhere, which has been typical for most of the functions we have been involved with in this neighborhood. We are going to miss our friends so much. They were so gracious to invite neighbors, friends from church, and my co-workers. It was very touching! I miss them very much already after only being gone a couple of weeks. Now that the distraction of the move is behind us I think the reality of the move is finally setting in for me. I miss my buddy's.

Brianna's Dance Recital

My last full day in Florida was a busy one. It started with Brianna's Dance recital. She was in Tap and Ballet this past year and she did such a great job - we are very proud of her. I only regret that my camera skills were better as the pictures I took of her performing were pretty bad! These pictures were after the show. She loved putting the make-up and costume on.
