Last Sunday was one of those "Chamber of Commerce" days. 75 degrees, a few clouds bu mostly sunny, just georgeous. I took a long ride up into the mountains. I made a quick stop at Rider's Hill, which is a motorcycle dealership and cafeteria, and had a Gatorade. Then I continued on north. I rode up Wolf Pen Gap Road, which is commonly referred to as "Georgia's Dragon" as it is similar to the "Tail of the Dragon" at Deal's Gap, NC but with fewer turns. Very smooth pavement with constant left and right switchbacks. I took it pretty easy, and stayed to the right of my lane - as it never fails, somebody in an SUV or a motorcycle going way to fast crosses the center line on a curve and ends up in your lane - got to be carefull. After that, I just started making my way further north, not really knowing where I was going. I ended up at the Chattahoochee National Forest's "Brasstown Bald" visitors center.
I made the long ride up to the top, and to my surprise, I found out that this was Georgia's high point. They have an observatory at the top - which is a 20 minute hike from the parking lot. I didn't go up as it was getting late at this point and I had a 2 hour ride home. We are planning a day trip up to this area as a family at the end of the month when the fall colors are in full peak.

You are very fortunate to have such great riding roads and scenic opportunities Rob. That high point looks like it would be a great destination for a ride!
