Midway East Mountaineers - Perfect Season Continues!

The 2nd Grade Midway East Wolverines continued their perfect winning streak yesterday. It was another hard fought game with the defense once again stepping it up and making big plays. We won 7-0. The only dissapointment of the day was at the end of the game. With virtually no time left on the clock, they broke loose for an 80 yard touchdown run. It was called back because one of their kids blocked one of ours in the back - PENALTY FLAG. Well, that's where things got interesting. In the course of the next 30 seconds, their team got 2 more penalty's for unsportsmanlike conduct. 1 on their coach for yelling at the ref, and another on a parent on the sidelines who decided to take the Lord's name in vain. Very dissapointing. I was on the opposite side of the field but I guess there were more incidents of rude behaviour from the opposing team over by the bleachers. PEOPLE - IT'S 2nd GRADE FOOTBALL....very immature and what a terrible example to teach kids. Oh well. our team took care of their business and we have very nice parents who don't act like morons.
